{"id":2451,"date":"2012-05-14T13:29:52","date_gmt":"2012-05-14T01:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coffeehouse.co.nz\/wordpress\/?p=2451"},"modified":"2012-05-14T13:29:52","modified_gmt":"2012-05-14T01:29:52","slug":"a-bit-of-protection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coffeehouse.co.nz\/wordpress\/?p=2451","title":{"rendered":"A bit of protection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been watching the chicken&#8217;s bum feathers get blasted around by the wind despite the windbreak cloth that we&#8217;ve installed, so last weekend we grabbed a few native shrubs to start a bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2UbtcmjfKa8\" target=\"_blank\">a good looking and not too expensive shrubbery<\/a> to assist them to scratch around unmolested by the breeze.<\/p>\n<p align=center><a href=\"https:\/\/coffeehouse.co.nz\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/windbreak_small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/coffeehouse.co.nz\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/windbreak_small.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"windbreak_small\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coffeehouse.co.nz\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/windbreak_small.jpg 450w, https:\/\/coffeehouse.co.nz\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/windbreak_small-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So far we&#8217;ve installed (from right to left, and really just so I have a record of what they are) <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Griselinia\" target=\"_blank\">Griselinia<\/a> Broadway Mint, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Griselinia\" target=\"_blank\">Griselinia<\/a> L. Whenuapai, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pittosporum\" target=\"_blank\">Pittosporum<\/a> tenufolium &#8220;Oliver Twist&#8221;, and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pittosporum\" target=\"_blank\">Pittosporum<\/a> &#8220;Stephen&#8217;s Island&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Four is about all I can install in a day without my wrists cracking from hitting rocks while digging, so that&#8217;ll have to do for now.
